I’ll add more photos later today, after I can get them off my camera.
A view of Aaustralian Jazz and Blues
Hey, hey, we’re in New Orleans, and tomorrow is Jazzfest Day 1.
Amongst the highlights that we might take in are Dr John and John Myer (but they’re both on at the Acura Stage, which equates to too many people for my comfort), and George Benson at the Congo Square stage.
Also need to visit the press tent.
We are looking forward to the next three days.
Have now arrived in Great Barrington MA. About to visit the Guthrie Center, which is the old church referred to in Arlo’s Alice’s Restaurant.
Oddly, I haven’t yet seen any restaurant named Alice’s Restaurant.
Well, with Boson as our first major stop on this trip, this week’s goings on have been of quite some interest to us. Our hearts are with those who have been impacted by the senseless attack upon the people of this wonderful city.
At the end of this week we are heading off on our annual trip to Jazzfest.
This year we’re doing it a little differently, starting by heading to Greater Barrington in Massachusetts, to visit the Guthrie Centre. This is housed in the old church referred to in Arlo Guthrie’s Alice’s Restaurant song.
Then it’s into New Orleans, for jazzfest, with 11 concurrent stages of music to distract us, plus of course all of the great food and the wonderful people that make up this fabulous city.
Then Dallas for some jamming, and Seattle to catch up with the latest in the Pop Culture Museum, before hitting Boston and New York for a very short burst, and then back home to Sydney.
